The Second Mountain: Four Sacred Commitments

April 19-May 17

Writer David Brooks’ concept of the “Second Mountain” speaks to a profound spiritual truth: that our lives are a journey from being centered on one’s self to being centered on how we live in the world in a way that creates a better world for everyone. The first mountain is self-centered. The second mountain is centered on a life committed to others. In this sermon series, we will explore God’s call to us to move from the first to the second mountain. Brooks says we achieve the second mountain through four commitments: commitment to calling, family, faith and community.
