Village Kids

Our staff are trained, responsible, and passionate about caring for children. We welcome children in worship and do not mind wiggling in the Sanctuary. However, we understand if sometimes a young one needs a different place to be. Our nursery is a safe, inviting place for the youngest members of our church family, welcoming ages 6 weeks through 3 years old. Children may be dropped off beginning 10 minutes before the service starts.

Note: Children up to age 5 are welcome in childcare during the Gathering (the 4 p.m. service at Mission Campus).

• Mission Campus 9, 11 a.m., and 4 p.m. services: Room 114
• Antioch Campus 9 a.m. service: Nursery

Our curriculum is Bible-based and designed to make God’s word relevant to young children (ages 3-5).

School Year Schedule:

• Mission Campus 9 a.m. service: Room 106. Preschoolers may go to their classroom before the service begins. However, if parents would like their preschoolers to sit with their family for the beginning of the service and leave when the older kids do, parents will walk their own children down to the first floor for drop off after Time with Children.
• Antioch Campus Education Hour: 9 a.m. (before worship), Room 117.
• Mission Campus 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. services: Room 114. Children up to age 5 may go to Room 114 for childcare. There is no structured curriculum for preschoolers during these services.

Summer Schedule (Memorial Day-Labor Day):

While there is no structured curriculum offered for preschool ages during the summers, children up to age 5 are welcome in child care.

Each week, children gather in age- and grade-level groups with caring, trained teachers and engaging curriculum designed just for them. Through Bible stories, songs, games, activities, and conversation, children are invited to wonder, ask questions, build friendships, and grow in their faith. Together, we discover the life-giving good news of Jesus’ love and what it means to live that love in the world.

School-year Schedule:

• Mission Campus 9 a.m. service: Kids sign-in in the Narthex and proceed to the Sanctuary with their families. Children will leave worship part-way through the service for Lighthouse and may be picked up in their respective grade-level classrooms after the service. Curriculum by Orange, First Look, and 252 will allow children in K-6th grades to follow the same Bible story in each class, so families can engage together and discuss lessons at home.
• Antioch Campus Education Hour: 9 a.m., Room 117
• Antioch Campus 10 a.m. service: Children’s Chapel for ages 5 and up will take place during worship in the nursery.
• Mission Campus 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. services: There is no programming for grades K-6 during these services; children will worship with their families.

Morning Stars Children’s Music programs take place at Mission Campus.

Choir: Morning Stars Choir (Grades K-6) meets 10-10:30 a.m. Sunday mornings during the school year in Room 14 (immediately following Lighthouse). Children will sing in worship every few weeks.

Handbells: Junior Ringers (Grades 4-6) meet 10:30-11 a.m. in Room 12. This group is still learning; they will perform in worship when they feel confident!

More Children’s Music Opportunities

Kids held a special place in Jesus’s heart. They hold a special place in ours, too. We think ALL kids are pretty amazing, uniquely created to do wonderful things. Regardless of the physical, mental or emotional challenges your child may face, we are committed to walking alongside families so that your child may know the love God has for them. Our one-on-one buddy system encourages kids of all ages and abilities to be a part of our Sunday mornings. Our Sensory Room at Mission Campus (Room 204) offers an area of respite, providing calming activities and a quiet space for retreat. Everyone is welcome.

Parents sometimes need a quiet, comfortable space to nurse, change diapers or step out of worship for any reason with their babies. At Mission Campus, the Nursing Room (217) is located directly across from the Chapel. At Antioch Campus, parents are invited to use the cozy library space, right next to the Sanctuary. The Sunday morning services are livestreamed at both locations so you won’t miss anything.

The Family Lounge in Room 201 at the Mission Campus is an inviting spot for kids and adults to read, learn, create and play—stocked with games, creative projects, curated books and comfy seating. The Family Lounge has a “prayer wall” to encourage kids and adults to explore, listen, dream, wrestle with and learn about prayer and faith. It’s also a place for parents to hang out and get to know one another. Sunday morning services are livestreamed in the Family Lounge so you don’t miss anything.
