Pray with Us Today
We will have brief prayer services today at 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel at the Mission Campus and at noon in the Sanctuary at the Antioch Campus. The worship spaces will remain open all day for personal prayer with reflection guides available.
Last night at their meeting, the Session:
- Approved the service of communion during officer examinations later this month, various worship services in 2027, as well as authorizing deacons to take communion to those at home at various times throughout the year
- Approved Ruling Elders Elizabeth Zakaryan, Donna Patton, Diane Lawson, Judy Bliss, and Stan Woodworth as commissioners to the Nov.14 Heartland Presbytery meeting
- Approved a “Commitment for Respectful Behavior” statement submitted by the Personnel Committee, in keeping with what other churches are recommending and adopting for staff and congregations nationwide. (Watch for blog post in near future.)
Thy Kingdom Come
Last Sunday was All Saints’ Day when we remember and honor the saints who have gone before us. If you missed that sermon, find it on our YouTube Channel, download the podcast, or watch on our website. We will begin a new series, “Thy Kingdom Come,” this Sunday. Theologian Henri Nouwen writes that “From the perspective of the gospel, giving is first and foremost, a form of ministry. It is a way of announcing our vision and then inviting others into that mission.” The vision of Village Presbyterian Church is to help usher in God’s kingdom, God’s reign, here and now, if only in part. Yes, God’s kingdom will fully come when Christ returns, but until that promised day, we must do all we can to show that God’s complete reign is on the way.

Damper Reminder – If you use a wood-burning fireplace, be sure to close the damper when not in use since an open damper allows heated air to go right up the chimney.

A commitment to
Christian Community
In a time when many congregations are facing declining membership and questions about long-term sustainability, welcoming new members is a reason to celebrate. Each person who joins is making a commitment to their faith life and to our shared ministry. Village Church has welcomed 51 new members so far in 2026. The next New Member Class at the Antioch Campus will be 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29. At the Mission Campus, there will be a luncheon at noon on Sunday, Dec. 6. If you or someone you know is interested in joining, learn more HERE.
