Celebrating Faithful Women Over the Years

The Honorary Life Membership (HLM) for Presbyterian Women is awarded for faithful service to the church, women’s organizations, and the community, recognizing individuals such as moderators, leaders, teachers, officers, pastors, and staff. The HLM program, established by the Presbyterian Church, honors individuals for their dedicated service. More than 1,000 women (and a few men) receive this honor each year. Recipients receive a certificate and a commemorative pin.

In 2024, the Presbyterian Women (PW) Board at Village Church changed the name of the honor they bestowed upon women to “Faithful Women of Outstanding Service.” The decision was made with the desire to honor the long-standing tradition of Honorary Life Memberships while recognizing the fullness of the award and the numerous ways a person can serve not only one’s church, but the wider community and God’s beloved world. This change was approved and blessed by the Board of directors of Presbyterian Women USA.

Nominate someone for the Faithful Women Award

We will honor our next worthy recipients in April of 2027. Nominations are being accepted now to honor women who support the mission of Village Church, nurture their faith and that of others, work for peace, justice, and promote an inclusive community through leadership and service.

You are invited to prayerfully consider and submit nominations for the 2027 Faithful Women of Outstanding Service awards to be recognized at the Celebration of Faithful Women on April 6. Please submit your nominations by Nov. 10.
