Pentecost Sunday

June 8 is Pentecost—the “birthday” of the Church. Wear red, orange, or yellow (‘fire’ colors) for our celebration! Rev. Dr. Rodger Nishioka has now explored four ways the Holy Spirit liberates and frees us. Last Sunday, he spoke about how the Holy Spirit endows us with unique spiritual gifts. Find the whole sermon series on our YouTube Channel.

This Sunday is also “2nd Sunday Social” after the 9 a.m. service (Mission) and following the 9:30 a.m. service (Antioch). Stay for a bit after worship for a sweet treat and conversation!

50th Annual Ice Cream Social

1975 to 2025! The 50th annual Ice Cream Social will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 27. Come for ice cream with all the fixings plus hot dogs, popcorn, games, and activities in the north parking lot. This is a free, family-friendly event—your neighbors and friends are invited, too!

Mission Sewing Needs Fabric – Hospitals need blankets for adults receiving chemo. Sewing is asking for cotton prints of assorted designs (a minimum of 1 yard), clean and unused. Drop off at the south entrance at the Mission Campus.

green tip of the week:

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness.

Did you know… Chancel flowers are saved after worship and made into smaller arrangements to be delivered to homebound members and those in the hospital—including Carolyn, age 96, who received flowers on May 25 and promptly mailed the church a lovely thank-card. In the Tuesday Mission Sewing group, two centenarians’ birthdays were celebrated in May—including Lucille, who turned 102, and still donates her time and can make peanut pillows faster than most anyone we know! Volunteers in our Helping Hands ministry drop off home-cooked meals or help weed and water gardens from time to time.

We are so grateful for the hundreds of volunteers across our three campuses—using their spiritual gifts to build up the body of Jesus Christ. Find ways to use your unique gifts and learn more about volunteering HERE.

9 and 11 a.m. (Sanctuary) and 4 p.m. for the Gathering service (Sanctuary, during Friendship Hall renovation) at the Mission Campus
