The Theology of K-Pop Demon Hunters: June 7-21
“K-Pop Demon Hunters” is a 2025 American animated musical. The story follows a K-Pop (Korean popular) girl group named HUNTR/X, who lead double lives as demon hunters. The film began streaming on Netflix in June 2025 and became the most watched original title in Netflix history with more than 500 million views. “K-Pop Demon Hunters” received acclaim for its animation, visual style, voice acting, story, and music. In this sermon series, we will explore the themes of good and evil, shame, identity, and the power of community.

Make a joyful noise!
Jenny Hull has offered elementary-aged kids a chance to live out their Broadway dreams every summer since 2010 at Village Church’s music & drama camp. Even the Covid-19 pandemic didn’t stop them; Jenny used her ingenuity to create safe ways for kids to practice and perform in a studio setting so that they could film a movie version to share with the audience in the church’s parking lot. Performances are known for their fabulous sets, clever costumes, souvenir t-shirts, and the occasional clergyperson as guest star. Jenny recruits choir members and drama-camp alums to help with directing, set building, and stage managing—making it feel like a family affair. And they do it all in one week. We thank Jenny for more than 15 years of memory-making with our children—offering them opportunities to shine on stage and sing to the glory of God!
