Here for Good Capital Campaign Project Update: May 2026

Antioch Campus families share why they are grateful to God for Village Church by writing (and drawing!) on Here for Good ‘bricks’—building a wall of support and gratitude.

Funding Updates

Total amount pledged to the Here for Good capital campaign is $4.8 million to date. That is more than half of the total pledge amount goal in just the first four months of this three-year campaign. Thank you, Village Church!

Actual YTD balance in the Capital Campaign Fund is $2.5 million. This is great news, as we have already received the first construction invoice! We likely have the funding to cover our 2026 projects. Later this year, the capital campaign committee and the business and operations staff at Village Church will reassess funds as the 2027 projects are planned. Read on to see what is planned for 2026.

Project Updates

Solar Panels – Antioch Campus (above). All permitting for the solar-panel project is completed and prep work on the roof has begun. Panel installation should start by May 15 at the latest.

Fellowship Hall – Antioch Campus (below). Demolition has been completed and renovation work began in early May. This project will likely finish ahead of schedule.

Sanctuary – Antioch Campus. Work on the Sanctuary will begin when the Fellowship Hall work is finished so that congregants may attend worship services in Fellowship Hall while the Sanctuary is being renovated. We are working with CSD for audio/visual (AV) design and installation—the same company that did the AV work for Friendship Hall at the Mission Campus.

Refrigerator/Freezer – Food Pantry. We signed a contract on May 5; the project will begin Sept. 1. We are grateful for incredible teamwork from our contractor, Village Church staff, and Harvesters Community Food Network to manage the logistics of food provisioning for our neighbors. They’ve made sure all gaps in refrigeration will be covered so our neighbors will not have to do without the services our Food Pantry provides while the project is underway.

Chancel – Mission Campus. New chairs for the chancel have been ordered. Choir riser sections will be constructed off-site. Riser installation will begin around July 1.

Preschool Security – Mission Campus. The project to increase security to this wing, including new doors, will begin July 1. The plan has been expanded to include a new exterior egress from the nursery, which is a licensing requirement from the state of Kansas.

Fire Suppression System – Mission Campus. Plans to improve our outdated fire-suppression system have been moved up to this summer. A contractor will already be on-site completing construction on the children’s wing security system, so it was more cost-effective to complete both projects at the same time.

Friendship Hall Restroom Renovation – Mission Campus. Restrooms located in the hallway between Friendship Hall and the Chapel have been slated for updates. Based on requests made at ‘Here for Good’ listening sessions, a decision has been made to move forward with two family bathrooms instead of gendered multi-stall bathrooms. Project timeline is still pending.
