Behold, we bring news of great joy: Baby Phillips is here!
Baby Luke was born last weekend. He weighed 6 lbs, 5 oz and Rev. Maggie Johnson Phillips is doing well and the new parents are grateful for a healthy baby boy! Pastor Maggie will be out for 12 weeks of parental leave. Ellen Gatewood will be leading our young adults and several staff members will help manage her worship-art duties while she is away.

Meneilly Visiting Scholar Watch Parties – 6:15 p.m. Wednesdays, April 1 & 8. Come to Wednesday Family Dinner at 5:30 p.m. and stay to watch Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III’s recorded presentations. We are unable to publish the recordings online, so join us to experience his two presentations in Friendship Hall. His first talk will be aired on April 1 and his second lecture will be on April 8.
Village Church Golf — Our 2026 dates have been announced. We will first play at the Fred Arbanas/Longview course starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12. Course fee is $43 plus tax. All interested men and women golfers should RSVP by April 10 to Brad Steil. Thank you!
Village Connect Groups – 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesdays, through March 25, Room 124 (Mission Campus). Participate in this year’s Beatitudes Bible study created by Pastor Rodger. Email Carol Solenberger. Serve
Have an Old Computer? – Donate your old computer to Village. A team refurbishes them and then donates them to local organizations. It’s a wonderful way to give more life to your computer! You can drop them off at the Mission Campus or the Food Pantry.
Drivers needed for home-delivered meals – Village has a team of drivers who deliver meals to folks who are unable to make one for themselves. We are in need of folks one Friday each month to drive and deliver. Meals are picked up at Matt Ross community center. Email Leslie Conrad for more info (913-226-7245).
ADULT FAITH FORMATION
Lenten Adult Education Class – 9 a.m. Sundays through March 29, Antioch Campus Library. Rev. Anna Owens will take us on a journey through spiritual practices and the Stations of the Cross. This Sunday, we‘ll explore the practice of walking a labyrinth using a borrowed cloth labyrinth.
Storytelling for Social Change – 6:15 p.m. Wednesdays through March 25, Room 230 (Mission Campus). Rev. Dr. Aaron Stauffer explores the relationship between narrative identity and how congregations can enact and live into their best stories. Sign up HERE.
In the Wilderness Together: A Lenten Journey Toward Healing & Hope – 6:15-7:15 p.m. Wednesdays through March 25, Room 132 (Mission Campus). Inspired by the Lenten journey, Prairie Sky Counseling Center clinicians invite participants to explore what it means to be human, together, and discover the grace that holds us as we move toward healing and hope. 2nd Thursday Recital featuring Sora Park Shepard, piano – 12:15 p.m. Thursday, April 9, Please join us for a free noontime recital with a short reception afterward in the Welcome Center to meet the artist.
Bach Aria Soloists and KC Actors Theatre presents “Our Favorite Things” – 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Mission Campus Sanctuary. This showcase will feature music and scenes from some of their favorite compositions and plays. Find tickets HERE.

Easter Lilies
You are invited to make a donation in someone‘s honor to support the long-standing Easter lily delivery ministry for our homebound members. Lily donations are $15 each. Your loved one(s)‘ name(s) will be included in the Palm Sunday bulletin. Names and donations are requested by Monday, March 23. We also need drivers to help deliver lilies during Holy Week. Our volunteers repeatedly report that they encounter and receive more joy than they deliver. Thank you!

Youth Trips – Please help us pray for eight teens plus two chaperones, Lora Garrison and Paul Lemon, working in the Dominican Republic right now. High school students are also invited to participate in the Montreat Youth Conference, June 13–20, or the Boundary Waters Trip, July 6–12. Middle school students are invited on the Mission Trip to Denver, July 25–30. These trips offer opportunities for spiritual growth, service, and fellowship. Learn more HERE.

Green Landscape Design – 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, Room 126 (Mission Campus). Landscape architect Paul Helmer will present principles of green architecture that take indigenous plant materials and non-grass ground cover into consideration. He will share his experience in preserving, renovating, reusing properties.

Looking for flexible, meaningful work? The Covenant Network of Presbyterians is seeking an office coordinator for 15-20 hours per week to help with light bookkeeping, data entry, donation processing, event plans, and general administrative support. Expectations include at least one day in the Kansas City, MO office but remote work is also an option.
