I am about to do a new thing;
Now it springs forth; do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19. Last Sunday, Oct. 5, was filled with holy moments, soaring music, shared bread and cup, loving outreach, homecomings, and new thresholds. Do you feel the energy—the Spirit at work? It takes all of us to be the body of Christ. Grateful to be doing this work and ministry alongside you.
Happy news
from Revs. Maggie Johnson Phillips and Sam Phillips
Hi, Village family! I wanted to share an exciting update from my family with you all. My husband Sam and I are grateful to be expecting a baby boy at the end of March 2026. Our dog, Charlie (pictured here), is getting promoted to big sister. We are over the moon with joy. More information will come about my parental leave and what that looks like for young adults and worship arts. In the meantime, know that Sam and I are thrilled to be raising our boy in two wonderful communities of faith (Village and Rolling Hills Presbyterian Churches). –Pastor Maggie
Children learn generosity when they see it in action—whether it’s a parent or another adult quietly helping a neighbor in need, donating goods, or volunteering at a food pantry. When we give without expecting praise and talk about why we choose to help, we teach humility, too—reflecting the values Jesus lived out during his life. Kindness and generosity are both cultivated in consistent, intentional acts. Thank you for all the ways you give back to your community and church.
It adds up!
