Chicago Mission Trip Wrap-up

Our team of eight students and five adults had an incredible time on their mission trip to Chicago in mid-June! Our group had the opportunity to see Rev. Tom Are’s final sermon at Fourth Presbyterian Church. On this trip, they also served six different organizations. They painted a mural with Elawa Farm Foundation, sorted books with Bernie’s Book Bank, gardened with BUILD Chicago, packaged food boxes with Nourishing Hope, packed international meal packs with Feed My Starving Children, and created clothing bags with Share Our Spare. They also tried deep dish pizza at Giordano’s and went to a Cubs game!

”For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.“

We are living into a church that is alive with purpose and love. In a May 2025 survey, 127 of you shared accounts of transformational faith experiences you’ve had related to Village Church. Some occurred in worship. Some through the care they received from pastors after the loss of a loved one. Others shared that they felt God’s presence during home communion, confirmation, or a Bible study. We are grateful that you felt moved to tell us about those moments. With your generosity, you are helping fulfill our baptismal promises to guide and nurture future generations at Village Church. 403 households have increased their pledges for 2025. And 105 households have pledged for the FIRST time. It all adds up. Thank you for being the church.
