LofterNews: January Youth Newsletter

A Note for the New Year

Whether or not you are the kind of person who makes resolutions, the start of a new year invites us to pause. To notice what we hope might change, and what we hope stays the same.

Jesus reminds us that every new day brings fresh mercy and new possibility. At the same time, He shows us the importance of consistency, staying rooted in what is good, faithful, and life-giving. Our hope for you this year is that you experience change where you need it most, and steadiness everywhere else. May both the new and the familiar point you toward the promise that God has good plans for you.

As we step into this year, we also share some joyful news within our youth ministry family. Our Youth Ministries Director, Angel Patterson, and her husband Trevor are expecting their third baby, due this June. Their family is filled with excitement as they prepare to welcome a new little one, and we are grateful to celebrate this season with them.

As Angel prepares for time away later this year, we are continuing to search diligently for an Associate Director who will help lead and support our ministry during that season. We appreciate your prayers and encouragement as we trust God’s guidance in this process.

May this year be filled with hope, growth, and the assurance that God is at work in every season.

Program Break and Ice Skating Return

As the holidays wrap up, our youth ministry is taking a short program break to rest, reset, and enjoy time with family. Program break officially ends on January 6, and we are excited to jump back in together.

Our return kicks off with ice skating, giving us a fun and easy way to reconnect and welcome everyone back after the break.

  • Village Middle will return on January 7 with an ice skating outing.
  • Village High will return on January 11, also heading to the ice.

For both events, students will meet at the church, and we will head out together from there.

Whether this is your student’s first event or a familiar rhythm, these nights are a great way to start the new season. We cannot wait to be back together, laugh a lot, and begin the year with joy.

Super Bowl Sunday at Village Youth

No plans for the Super Bowl? We’ve got you covered!

Students are invited to join us for our Village Youth Super Bowl Party on Saturday, February 8, starting at 5:30 PM in the Youth Loft. Whether you love football or are just here for the snacks and games, this night is all about fun and connection.

This is a relaxed, high-energy event and a great opportunity to invite friends and build community. We will have space to watch the game, enjoy food, and hang out together as we celebrate Super Bowl weekend.

We cannot wait to gather in the Youth Loft for a night of fun, laughter, and togetherness.

Looking Ahead to Summer Trips

While we are just getting started with a new year, we are already looking ahead to summer and the opportunities it brings for growth, adventure, and connection.

We are excited to share the dates for our upcoming 2025 summer trips. More information, including registration details, cost, and important logistics, will be released later this month.

  • Montreat: June 13–20
  • Boundary Waters: July 6–12
  • Village Middle Mission Trip: July 25–30

For the latest updates, be sure to watch your email and follow us on Instagram as more details are announced.

We cannot wait to share more about these experiences and the ways God will use them in the lives of our students.
