What We Do

Girls’ Home

We’ve helped provide a home for 16 young at-risk girls and a housemother to care for them. The Girls’ Home brings security and stability to the most vulnerable population in Thwake, and ensures that these girls will grow up with clean clothes, plenty of food, a stable education and a loving environment. We love and treat each of the girls like a daughter, which means that donor funds help cover all their expenses—housing, food, education, tutoring, health care, supplies, activities, transportation, clothing, etc.

Health Clinic

Before the clinic was established, healthcare was non-existent to Thwake’s 4,000 residents. Our medical team provides free medical care to approx. 700 patients each month and hosts regular community health clinics with doctors, nurses, dentists, ophthalmologists and other specialists to serve as many residents as possible.

Thwake Church

The church in Thwake is thriving and being led by a wonderful evangelist, Elder Sabina (pictured 3rd from left with other Thwake Village Partnership employees). Elder Sabina regularly visits communities surrounding Thwake to introduce new people to the Thwake Church and invite them to attend services. We recently sent funds to upgrade the fences and gates to help secure the property and purchased a small house in Ndauni, Kenya as a new site to hold regular services.

Water Access

We have installed the first-ever fresh water well in Thwake. The residents of Thwake were accustomed to walking miles each day to retrieve fresh water, which caused a major toll on their safety, healthcare and quality of life.

Education

Our partnership has helped stock Thwake’s primary and secondary school with furniture, supplies and books.
