Service Saturday – ScrapsKC
This past Saturday, 14 of us visited ScrapsKC for a morning of service. Their mission is to provide resources, education and an environment for creative upcycling that encourages change in a more responsible community. After touring the facility, we worked to sort markers, construction paper, and tissue paper for both their amazing (and affordable!) teacher resource center and public retail shop. If you need anything craft or office supply related, we suggest stopping by! Bonus- all proceeds benefit the teacher resource center and helps keep items out of the landfill! Connect Groups
Interested in a small group that gathers once a month for a meal and Bible study? Connect groups are up to 8 people in similar life stages who can grow in faith and life together. The 2025-26 Village Connect Series will focus on the nine beatitudes and their implications for our lives today. Fill out this form to join a group (even if you were in one last year) for the series that kicks off this fall!
Fall Retreat
Save the dates for our fall retreat Nov. 7-9, 2025. We’ve booked a wonderful house outside Excelsior Springs, MO (~1 hour drive from Village) and would love for you to join us! We’re gearing up for a weekend away together to retreat, to play, and to grow in community. The time will be filled with games, study, s’mores and more!
Manna Retreat – January 2026
Join fellow Village young adults for a weekend away in the mountains of North Carolina! This year’s theme is “Prophetic Voices: Courage, Justice, and Hope.” We’ll fly out together on Thursday and return by early evening Sunday. $150 deposit due on registration, remaining balance due by Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. Registration closes Saturday, November 15.
Scotland Pilgrimage – July 2027
Maggie and Ellen are working to gauge interest in a progressive pilgrimage to Scotland with Young Adult Ministry in 2027. The estimated cost is $3,750 for a 10-day trip and would include time in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Isle of Iona. At this point we are trying to see if there is enough interest to get a group of 20; filling out the interest form does not commit you to anything.
