LofterNews: November Youth Newsletter

Fall Fun Recap!
We’ve had so much fun together this fall! Our night at Impact Gymnastics was full of jumping, games, and plenty of time to just hang out and have fun. At our fall hangout, we painted pumpkins, enjoyed some fall snacks (including a caramel apple nacho bar!), and spent the evening laughing and enjoying time together. A big thank-you to everyone who joined us and made these nights so much fun!
College Care Packages + Leftover Halloween Candy!
Have leftover Halloween candy? We’re collecting extra candy to help fill our college care packages for students this year. Candy can be dropped off at the South Reception Desk.
We’d also love to send a care package to the college students in your life! Parents, family members, and students can fill out the form below to sign up to receive a care package.
Photo Hunt Returns!
It’s back! Photo Hunt is an annual favorite that our youth look forward to every year, and this year we’re heading to a brand-new location we’ve never visited before! Students will split into teams and follow clues to complete photo challenges and rack up as many points as possible. There’s a prize waiting for the winning team, so bring your friends and get ready for some friendly competition!

Winter Retreat: A Renewed Vision
The world has a lot to say about who we should be, what we should value, and what our future should look like. This winter, we’re taking a step back from all of that and making space to discover a renewed vision for ourselves and the lives God is calling us to live.
Join us for one night away at Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood, Kansas! We’ll spend time creating vision boards, playing games, sharing good conversations, enjoying s’mores, and making memories together. It’s a chance to slow down, connect with friends, and step into the year ahead with a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of who you are.
We’ll leave after Sunday morning worship and spend one night at Tall Oaks before returning to town on Monday, January 18, for an optional MLK Day of Service project with other youth within the presbytery.
January 17–18, 2027
Cost: $35
Departure: Sunday at 10:30 a.m. following worship
Location: Tall Oaks Conference Center | Linwood, KS
*More details about the Monday service project coming soon!
Spring Break Goes Local
This year, we’re taking a break from our usual trip to the Dominican Republic, but that doesn’t mean Spring Break will be without opportunities to serve! Instead, we’ll be offering four different local and semi-local service opportunities throughout the week, including two day trips, one to Wichita and one to Manhattan. We’re excited to try something a little different and give students several ways to get involved and serve our neighbors. More details and registration information are coming soon!
Summer Trips Are Here!
It may still feel like summer is a ways away, but registration for our 2027 Youth summer trips is officially OPEN! We have three different opportunities for students to travel, serve, build community, and make memories together. Check out each trip below and get registered!
All Youth Mission Trip: Little Rock, Arkansas
June 25–30 | Completed Grades 6–12
Our All Youth Mission Trip brings students in grades 6–12 together for a week of service, learning, and community in Little Rock. Students will have the opportunity to serve alongside local organizations, learn from the community, and put their faith into action.
Montreat Youth Conference
July 10–17 | Completed Grades 8–12
Montreat is back! This year, we’re opening the trip to students who have completed grades 8–12. Montreat is a week filled with worship, small groups, recreation, music, community, and opportunities for students to grow in their faith and build lasting relationships.
Middle School Float Trip
July 27–29 | Completed Grades 6–8
We’re wrapping up the summer with our every other year Middle School Float Trip! Students in grades 6–8 will spend a few days together enjoying time on the water, building friendships, and making some summer memories before the new school year begins.
