Baptism at Village Church

Baptisms and Orientations

Baptism is the beginning of claiming the importance of God in the life of your child, and the
importance of the family of God to surround your child. Parents affirm their own faith in Jesus Christ and to teach their child the faith. The congregation also commits to nurture the child in their faith. We are excited about this beginning of your child’s life of faith, and look forward to years of ministry together.

Baptisms are celebrated every other month on the third Sunday of the month (January, March, May, July, September, November), except in May when baptism is celebrated on Mother’s Day. An orientation class for parents is held approximately two weeks prior to baptism Sunday, 7:00-8:00 p.m. on a Wednesday at the church. Call the Children’s Ministry Office, 913.671.2359 or 2355, to register for the class and to schedule your child’s baptism. Baptisms can also be scheduled on other Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. worship service in Friendship Hall, followed by attendance at a regularly scheduled orientation.
