Kansas City Free Health Clinic

“I was sick and you took care of me.”

Nationwide it is estimated that more than 4.5 million people are without health insurance. In Kansas City alone, 300,000 people have no health care coverage. Village Church is the ONLY church in Kansas City providing ongoing mission work one Saturday a month to the Kansas City Free Health Clinic. Doctors John Hall, Al Biggs, Tom Good and J. Peterson are part of this essential and rewarding effort and they want your help!

In 1971, the Kansas City Free Health Clinic was formed to serve the ongoing health care needs for the uninsured and underinsured. 

Today, the clinic at 3515 Broadway runs at capacity. On a yearly basis, the Kansas City Free Health Clinic sees more than 6,000 people with more than 45,000 patient visits, contacts and activities. Patients find that the Kansas City Free Health Clinic is the only place that can serve them, particularly on an ongoing basis for chronic illnesses. 

Each week, the clinic receives 150-200 calls for appointments that cannot be scheduled, primarily due to lack of medical doctors available to see patients.

Calling All Village Physicians

Village Church’s mission needs your expertise and a mere three hours of your time. The clinic makes it EASY for you to help:

• Comprehensive malpractice coverage is provided for all physicians.
• Complete physician confidentiality is ensured. 
• Scheduling is easy.
• Sessions run every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – noon.
• Cancellations of volunteer clinical sessions are OK, as patients make appointments on a day-before basis.

Give as little as three hours a year! Volunteer coordinator, Suzanne, will gladly assist in your commitment and scheduling.
