Team Kitchen is a group of people who love eating and having fun in the kitchen. They are a diverse group ranging in age from 16 to 90, with different backgrounds and abilities.
Team Kitchen members help the chef and kitchen assistant with the preparation and presentation of food, and the kitchen clean-up after foodservice events.
A few of the tasks Team members do: carve meat, make mashed potatoes, plate up salads and desserts, frost and cut cakes, scoop ice cream, transport food to and from buffet stations, count plates and flatware, wash pots and pans and wipe counters.
Most members of Team Kitchen work Wednesday afternoons and evenings for the Wednesday Night Dinners, but other food service opportunities include Ministry Night Dinners, Ice Cream Social, Classic Citizens' Celebration and departmental celebrations within the church.
Team Kitchen members work as often or as seldom as they wish — we're glad to have you whenever you can come help! We do require advance notice that you're coming, to make sure the tasks are properly divided among all volunteers. Most shifts are 2–4 hours long, depending on the event.
