Village Church International Mission Focus 2011
Village Church is a community of faith dedicated to serving the wider world. In 2011, our international mission project will be in Thwake, Kenya.

Thwake is a village of roughly 1000 people who daily live with the reality of a scare water supply. Whether it be for drinking, cooking or bathing, the local river is the only practical source for water.

Villagers, oftentimes children, hitch 5 gallon jugs to their donkey and walk a mile or two to the river. During the dry season, it is normal to see villagers digging into the river bed just to get to the water below the surface. Even during the rainy season when the river is full, the water is still dirty and filled with easily treated contaminants.
Village Church is committed to ensuring that every man, woman and child in Thwake has access to safe drinking water.
